How can I use Teams?
From IThelp
Cooperation for leaders
- Teams meetings makes it possible for everyone to participate - even if they aren't physically present
- Built-in wiki is automatically created for keeping minutes
- You can also write the minutes directly in the teams meeting
- Follow up on previous issues from other meeting
- Delegate responsibilities and see progress by using Planner in Teams
- Add new issues to the meeting agenda
- Share documents and drafts in the file storage
- Integrated shared calendar
Cooperate in the section
- Have a team for the whole section
- Create tasks and set a due date using Planner in Teams
- Share documents relevant to the people in your section
- Keep the minutes
Employment committee
- Use Teams to manage the employment process
- One channel per applicant
- Manage the application/CV/refrences as tabs in the applicants channel
- Simple to sort out unwanted candidates and to focus on the favorites for the position
- Can also be used during interviews, easy access to relevant documents without printing them
- Keep notes from the interviews, write down questions or comments on the go
- Traceable employment process
- The team can be archived with write protection, and be deleted when required to fulfill privacy conserns
- Teams that have not been used the last 12 months will be deleted automatically by the IT department
Follow up the apprentices in the department
- Create a team with all the departments apprentices as members
- Channels can be sorted by eg. curriculum
- It makes it easy for the apprentice to get in contact with the instructors
- Yearly plans can be integrated in Planner, and (in the long run) in the Exchange Online calendar
- Previous apprentices' final examination available in the file storage
- Easy to give access and share files compared to the traditional file storage
- Separate team for instructors, administrators/leaders
- Can be used the same way as a employment committee; Follow the apprentice from application to the final examination
- One channel per apprentice, instuctors can discuss the progress, challenges and logs (stored in the file storage)
- The channels can be labeled by the year an apprentice in accepted;
- 2017 Apprentice A
- 2018 Apprentice B
- 2018 Applicant C
- 2019 Applicant D
- This can be of great use if the apprentice changes the instructor, makes it easy to pick up where the old instructor left off
Cooperate in a department/institute
- Dynamically create team based on the users department
- Channels can be created based on the division of sections/groups
- The main channel (general) should be reserved for important information for everyone in the department/institute
- Informal channels for small talk can exist side by side with the "professional" channels
- The SharePoint-site behind the Teams can replace the common storage (P:)
- Files are then automatically available for everyone at the department/institute, from any device or network
- The security is the Office365 log on, so you no longer need VPN when working from home
Ad hoc groups in chat
- The chat function in teams is more than just 1-1 messages
- You can easily invite one or more participants to the chat, and give the chat a name to recognice it by
- You can chat and share files, the one that invites to the chat can limit what the participants should see of any previous conversation
- You don't have to create a new team - sometimes you just need to discuss things with a group of people
- You can easily jump between chat, voice or video.
