An alternative wey of connecting to the home directory, is using SSH or SFTP. If you are a student, type "login.uib.no" in the "host name" field. All students and employees at UiB have a home directory (personal storage) on a server, associated with their user account.

The main advantagees of storing files on the server, is that the contents are backed up every night, and that the user is relieved of having to carry their files on a memory stick, CD, DVD or other external storage medium. You only need access to a computer from which you an connect to your home directory.

You can connect to your home directory from other computers at home or outside of UiB.
